Develop and maintain the highest quality standards in architecture while
managing the planning and design process for the Hospitals and Health
Centers facilities. Direct and oversee the activities of architects,
engineers and other retained consultants for the planning, programming and
design of assigned capital projects and project investigations. Review and
approve fee proposals and payments for services provided by retained
consultants. Coordinate the activities of HHC Units in the planning,
programming and design of assigned capital projects and project
investigations. Prepare or oversee the preparation of project
investigations and program statements. Advice and counseling for client
administrators and end users on criteria for facility planning, design and
construction. Review design documents to assure compliance with HHC Design
Guidelines.
Job Requirements:
Professional Degree in Architecture, Design or equivalent combination of
education and experience; Professional Architectural Registration and ten or
more years of health care design experience required. Demonstrated
experience and ability in moderate to complex healthcare facility planning
and/or design, along with experience in drafting and preparing construction
documents. Demonstrated experience and ability in management of retained
consultants. Working knowledge of building technologies and engineering
systems. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills. Excellence in
written expression and report writing. Working knowledge of computer aided
design in general and AutoCAD in particular. Working knowledge of
regulatory requirements for healthcare facilities.
