Brokaw, PE will share his expertise
in state-of-the-art blast resistance
design. Mr. Brokaw’s presentation
will include:

Presenter
Mr. James T. Brokaw, PE is
Principal Engineer and Director,
Security Engineering Group within
Applied Research Associates. His 17
years experience includes
anti-terrorism, security
engineering, and structural response
to explosive effects, working within
the DOD Unified Facilities Criteria,
the Interagency Security Committee
(ISC) Security Design Criteria, and
the FAA Security Guidelines.
Mr.
Brokaw has served as the lead blast
consultant for numerous projects of
national significance, including the
US Mission to the United Nations, US
courthouses, US Embassies, and
assessments of several national
treasures including the Washington
Monument, and the Smithsonian
Institute’s buildings on the
National Mall.
He
assisted in developing the GSA’s
“Progressive Collapse Analysis and
Design Guidelines for New Federal
Office Buildings and Major
Modernization Projects” and applied
this guideline to facilities for the
GSA and the Department of Defense.
Mr. Brokaw assisted the GSA in
developing upgrades to their
facilities, assisting the Design
Team in meeting ISC and DOD Security
Criteria.
